For patients and families

Patient Safety

King’s Daughters’ considers patient safety a critical part of overall patient care. We participate in the 5 Million Lives Campaign and many other patient safety initiatives. Staff members are committed to following established guidelines … designed to ensure the safety of all patients—whether as an inpatient or outpatient.

Here are some of the key initiatives already in place at King’s Daughters’ Hospital:

  • Accuracy of patient identification;
  • Effectiveness of communication among caregivers;
  • Safe use of medications;
  • Safe use of infusion (IV) pumps;
  • Reduce the risk of healthcare-acquired infections;
  • Reconcile patient medications across the fullcontinuum of care;
  • Reduce the risk of patient harm resulting from falls.

Patient Safety also involves effective communication with patients and/or family members/caregivers. Talking directly with your physician and our staff helps ensure full understanding by both patient and caregiver. This communication improves safety.

KDHHS is committed to continuous improvement. If you have a comment or suggestion on how we can improve communication or improve safety, please complete the form below. Submitted information will be delivered directly to our Patient Safety Team. Click here for more Patient Safety Tips.
